Mount Wakid (Via Jingkung Trail)

Mount Wakid stands at an elevation of 1,372 meters above sea level. Climbers will access the mountain from Kampung Sunsuron, Tambunan, which is located at approximately 780 meters above sea level, making the actual climb less than 600 meters. Your journey begins at a leisurely pace, where you will be able to take in views of the scenic countryside with its evergreen land and lush terraced paddy fields that are well preserved by the locals. Your trek will include jungle terrains, as well as a river and bridge crossing. Unlike other riverside trails, you may be relieved to find that there are generally no leeches along this route! Be sure to snap an iconic photo at the highest peak, before descending through another series of picturesque backdrops – this is definitely an Insta-worthy outing!

A sumptuous buffet lunch will be served in one of the Sunsuron Homestay venues. You will then have the opportunity to relax in the peace and quiet of the village, or even take a dip to cool down in the natural river swimming pool (with a small fee). This day trip promises an exciting climb coupled with some exposure to the local culture, making it truly a day to remember.
