Mount Trusmadi with height 2,642 meters is the second highest mountain in Sabah and Malaysia after the Majestic Mount Kinabalu. Be surprise it is a tougher challenge to climbers compared to Mount Kinabalu. 

The name “Trusmadi” is originated from the Dusun words (pinotorusan Madi). Pinotorusan means Hunting Ground and Madi is the name of a hunter who was used to hunt in Trusmadi.

Day 1 –  Packed Lunch and Dinner

10.00 am – Pick up from the hotel in Kota Kinabalu and depart to Tambunan. This small town lies in the heart of the Pegalan Valley, about 2 hours drive over the scenic Crocker Range from Kota Kinabalu.

12.00 pm – Reach Tambunan Town.

1.00 pm – Depart by 4 wheel drive from Tambunan Town to Trus Madi which will take you into the forestry Reserve starting point at Taman Kitingan (1,627m) which is just 4900 metres from the summit.

2.00 pm – Arrived at the starting point Taman Kitingan. Register with permit , continue journey to the rest house at Taman Sulaiman approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.

4.30 pm – Expected to arrive at the rest house.

5.00 pm – Hi Tea, coffee or tea and local food

6.00 pm – Have an early buffer dinner

7.30 pm – Free and easy, stay overnight at the rest house.

Day 2

1.00 am – Wake up call

1.30 am – Proceed Supper Breakfast

2.00 am – After supper, briefing conduct from the Mountain Guide and start trekking up to the summit of Mount Trusmadi

5.30 am – Expected to reach the summit. The pitcher plants are to be found from an elevation of 1,900m all the way to the summit and they get larger and larger as you trek higher. There are also Rafflesia Flower in the area, but they are more likely to be seen at the foot of the mountain. In sunny weather you may well see the largest butterfly in the world – Rajah Brooke

8.00 am – Descend back to the rest house.

11.30 am – Reach at the rest house & enjoy the buffet lunch.

1.00 pm – Return to the starting point Taman Kitingan.

2.00 pm – Transfer back to Tambunan town by 4 wheel drive (vehicle).

3.00 pm – Arrive at Tambunan Town and transfer back to Kota Kinabalu City.

5.00 pm – Reach at Kota Kinabalu City and transfer to your desinated hotel.

Visit Sabah is not complete without a trip to the Kinabatangan River is the longest river in Sabah, with numerous ox-bow lakes, remarkable environment of wildlife and fascinating natural habitats such as limestone caves, dipterocarp forests and freshwater swamps.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Lunch and Dinner

  • Pick up on arrival Sandakan airport or Hotel.
  • Sandakan Jetty for approximately 2½ hours boat journey to Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah’s longest Kinabatangan River
  • Check in and free and easy.
  • Enjoy delicious buffet dinner, experience a Night Safari walking around the Sukau Lodge area and slide show conducted by local guide.

Day 2 – Breakfast and Lunch

  • Buffet lunch before proceed to Rainforest Discovery Centre. Take a visit the botanical garden with a bird view of the centre from the canopy walk.

To complete the climb to the summit normally require 2 Days 1 night to complete but now you have a chance to do it just in 1 day as the highest peak of the Crocker Range, which is Borneo’s backbone, Mount Kinabalu is both a treasure and challenge. 4,095 metre granite summit a task of stamina rather than skill, and be rewarded with an inspiring view of the sun rising over Borneo.

Itinerary:

  • 5.00 am – Early transfer from Kota Kinabalu city to Kinabalu Natioanl Park. Journey will take approximately an hour 45 mins to reach Kinabalu Natioanl Park.
  • 6.45 am – Upon arrival , registration to be made by our guide while you can take your time enjoying the cool breeze at the Kinabalu National Park.
  • 7.00 am – After registration, meet with your appointed Mountain Guide and transfer to Timpohon Gate – the starting point of climbing.
  • 7.15 am – Start climbing to reach Laban Rata Resthouse.
  • 10.20 am – After rest, proceed the trekking by passing by Sayat-Sayat Hut (final check point).
  • 1.15 pm – Due to safety reason, climber are allowed to stay at least 20 minutes before continue descend back to the Timpohon Gate.
  • 3.30 pm – 6.00 pm –Expected time to arrived at Timpohon Gate. Pickup and transfer back to Park HQ to collect your well deserved Certificate.
  • 6.00 pm – Depart from Kinabalu Park & transfer to Kota Kinabalu.

  • No refund will be apply if trip to the Summit (Low’s Peak is cancelled by Sabah Park Rescue Rangers also have the right and final decision if the situation becoming worst due to bad weather or safety reasons).
  • Advance booking are needed. Only four (4) climbers permitted one day climb permits issued by Sabah Parks Authority each day.
  • Please bring your Passport as it will be needed during registration.
  • Please wear your Climbing Tag at all time during your day climb.
  • Climbers require and must to sign liability form from Sabah Park Authority.
  • Safety briefing will conduct at before 7.00 am at Sabah Park HQ office.

– Kindly take note that the cut off time to reach Laban Rata rest house at 3,272 metres by 10.00 am. For safety reason, the Sabah Park Authority will not allow guest to continue hike to Summit if guest arrived later than 10.00 am.

Kinabalu Park, One of Malaysia’s first world heritage. Situated on the southern boundary, at an elevation of 1,563 metres with facilities accommodation, restaurant, exhibit centres, park offices where overnight climbers must register for Mount Kinabalu. For Poring Hot Spring is in the lowlands, a complete contrast to the Kinabalu Park and famous for it hot sulfuric minerals of this spring. 

Itinerary:

  •  7.30 am –  Depart from hotel and proceed to Kinabalu National Park, Malaysia’s Natural Heritage site. Journey will take estimate 2 hours passing by mountainous roads that wind along the Crocker Range.
  • 9.30 am –  A brief stop over at Nabalu, a collection of native stalls selling fruits, vegetables, local produce and handicrafts.
  • 10.00 am – Arrive at Kinabalu National Park, expereince the cool and refreshing mountain air. Clear wheater with a majestic view of Mount Kinabalu.
  • 11.00 am – Proceed for a guided walk along the nature trails with the park naturalist. While walking, listen to the sounds of the jungle and observe nature’s plants, trees, orchids and butterflies. Kinabalu Park boasts with species of plants which includes 1,500 species of orchids, 77 of which are endemic to Kinabalu. The park also supports 289 species of birds and 290 different types of butterflies.
  • 12.45 pm – Depart for lunch.
  • 1.30 pm – After lunch, depart for another for interesting natural wonder, the Poring Hot Spring located approximately 47 km from Kinabalu Park. Poring Hot Spring, named after the tall bamboo plant that is abundant in that area, is a natural spring where hot sulfurous water emit from the ground. Avaialble canopy walkway with suspension bridges are suspended at the top of the canopy for visitors to walk along.
  • 4.00 pm –  Depart Poring Hot Spring for Kota Kinabalu.
  • 5.30 pm to 6.00 pm –  Arrive hotel.

The Mount Kinabalu dominates the landscape and legends of the Kadazandusun people. The elegant majestic mountain offer climbers hiking along the mountain trails and surrounded with abundant  flora and fauna. No climbing experience is required to conquer the peak of Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo. 

Day 1 –  ( Packed Lunch and Dinner)

  • 7.30 am – Early transfer from city to Kinabalu Park. Journey will take approximately an hour 30minutes to reach Kinabalu Park.
  • 9.00 am – Upon arrival and registration for climbing permit while enjoying the cool breeze at the National Park.
  • 9.15 am – After registration, meet with your appointed mountain guide & transfer to Timpohon Gate starting point of climbing.
  • 9.30 am – Start climbing and reach at Mountain hut by late afternoon.
  • 4.30 pm to 8.00 pm – The restaurant at Laban Resthouse open for dinner. (The restaurant will close after 8.00 pm)

Day 2 – ( Breakfast  )

  • 1.30 am – Wake up to continue journey and make sure you bring along all the thing required for the climb especially headlamp, drinking water and warm jacket.
  • 1.50 am – Go to Laban Rata restaurant to have your supper breakfast and not recommended heavy meal.
  • 2.30 am – Start climbing to the summit which is 8 km away from the Laban Rata. Journey will take 2.5 – 3 hours to reach summit. (depends fitness)
  • 5.30 am – Reach summit at 4,095 meters and experience the breathtaking view of the sunrise and beautiful view of the mountain.
  • 6.30 am – Descend back to Laban Rata for breakfast before trekking down to Kinabalu Park.
  • 10.00 am – Packed up your gears and bag, have breakfast, start descend down to Timpohon gate.
  • 2.00 pm to 2.30 pm – Reach Kinabalu Park. Collect certificate and lunch at Balsam Cafe.

Itinerary:

Day 1 – Packed Lunch and Dinner

  • Pick up from Kota Kinabalu city area and proceed to Kinabalu Park HQ
  • Free and easy for a guided walk along the nature trails with the park naturalist
  • Free & Easy & have a good rest for big day of climbing on the next day.

Day 2 – Breakfast – Lunch and Dinner

  • 7.00 am – Early breakfast and climbers require to check and bring all the equipments for the climb. Not recommended to have heavy meal
  • 8.00 am – Meet with your appointed Mountain Guide and transfer to Timpohon Gate the starting point of climbing.
  • 8.30 am – Start climbing and reach at Mountain hut by late afternoon. Overnight at Mountain hut.
  • 5.00 pm – 8.00 pm – Climbers expected to arrive restaurant at Laban Rata Resthouse for dinner and check point
  • 8.00 pm – The Laban rata reshouse lights will switch off. Rest and prepare for the next day of climbing.

Day 3 – Breakfast

  • 1.30 am – Climbers wake up to continue journey to the Mount Kinabalu summit. (Make sure to bring needed equipment for the climb especially headlamp, drinking water and warm jacket & glove)
  • 1.50 am – Go to Laban Rata restaurant to have your Supper Breakfast. Not recommended to have a heavy meal
  • 2.30 am – Start the climbing to the summit which is 8 km away from the Laban Rata Mountain Hut
  • 5.30 am – Reach Summit at 4,095.2 M – 8.7 km and experience the breathtaking view of the Sunrise and beautiful view of the mountain.
  • 6.30 am – Descend back to Laban Rata for breakfast
  • 10.00 am – After packed up your thing and breakfast done,  climbers start descend down to Kinabalu Park.
  • 2.30 pm – Reach Kinabalu Park. Take you certificate and lunch at Balsam Cafe.
  • 3.30 pm – Depart from Kinabalu park & transfer to Kinabalu Kinabalu city
  • 5.00 pm – Reach Kota Kinabalu city

  • Porter available from Timpohon gate to Laban Rata RM 6.00 per 1 kg
  • Applicable Tourism Room Tax RM 10.00 per person
  • We do not recommend climbers to rush to the airport on the same day of descent from Mount Kinabalu due to health reason, possible high chance that you might miss your flight due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Single Surcharge RM 150.00 applicable for single climber – Refundable if any climber join your climbing activity.
  • Rental available at Laban Rata for Gloves and Warm Jackets (RM 20.00 and above)
